Islamic Car - Proton

New strategy from Proton? You decide..Link
I stumbled upon Reuter's news but this one was back in 2007, but yet no announcement made by Proton about this plan. The news stated that Proton, together with Iran and Turkey are planning to create an Islamic car concept for the Muslim World market.

It is a great idea if Proton really meant to do it, because Muslim market is a huge . Let's take a look at what the concept is all about.

Well, it will be equipped with a compass that points to Mecca, and a compartment meant specifically to put the Koran, the Islamic holy book. I think it's not a bad idea but why there is no announcement made yet after 4 years?

Lotus Inspired - Satria Neo

Proton has recently launched the Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing edition. Obviously, this product is one of Proton's ways to show its support the Lotus Formula 1 team. Proton always shows its support by launching new products. But this isn't a new one, it is a re-design model from Satria Neo. The car wears the traditional colors of Lotus racing team.

Powered by retuned version of Proton's 1.6-litre CamPro CPS engine. Special features include the R3 Tuned Öhlins Coil-Overs Dampers and Öhlins DFV (Dual Flow Valve) technology. I wonder what the guys from Top Gear will comment on this one. I'll definitely post them in here once I found them.

The car is currently available for a price of RM115,000.00.

I am not really a car specialist but judging from its price, this car can be label as one of the expensive car in the market, maybe Proton should re-consider its pricing for this model.
